Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), Taipei Exchange (TPEx)
PLANET Technology, a global leading IP-based networking company, was honorably recognized as an outstanding company for practicing corporate governance and CSR, and was certified to be in the top 5 percent of the 595 Taipei Exchange (TPEx) listed companies in the first corporate governance evaluation officially held by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and TPEx.
In accordance with the “Corporate Governance Roadmap” released by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan, TWSE and TPEx began to hold the corporate governance evaluation in 2014. Through this official evaluation, the TWSE and TPEx hopes to identify role models and incorporate benchmark functions so as to guide and encourage more companies in Taiwan to implement corporate governance, thereby shaping the culture of corporate governance.
The first corporate governance evaluation indicators were developed according to both the governmental regulations in Taiwan, and the latest corporate governance principles by OECD and other global institutions, in order to be in line with international standards. It covers 92 indicators in five important categories:
- Protecting Shareholder Rights and Interests
- Treating Shareholders Equitably
- Enhancing Board Composition and Operation
- Increasing Information Transparency
- Putting Corporate Social Responsibility into Practice
Totally there were 798 TWSE listed companies and 595 TPEx listed companies attending this evaluation, among which 40 TWSE listed companies and 30 TPEx listed companies were picked as the top with a 5% share and were awarded the honor on June 10, 2015.
